The Monster band KISS, who pretty much originated the whole cool make-up and Rock-n-Roll thing back in the 1970s, is going on a huge concert tour with Motley Crue this 2012 summer. Touring without 2 of their original members Peter Criss and Ace Frehley, both founding grand-daddies of KISS, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, are moving forward with a KISS Tour with Tommy Thayer on guitar and Eric Singer on drums. They're saying that this will be the loudest concert ever and for some scary reason, I believe it. Who would have ever had though that such a gentle, little, religious boy (Gene Simmons) would grow up to be known as The Demon in one of the most well known rock bands ever.
Splitting their stage time with Motley Crue (each band will play for a little over an hour; making each concert way over 2 hours long), the air should most definitely be electric. Between Gene's Demon character throwing up blood & breathing fire and Tommy Lee's crazy stage antics, I'm one fan that can not wait. Growing up in the 70's and 80's, I worshiped KISS and even played in an air band to KISS music during lunchtime at elementary school. Three friends and I would get up on a makeshift stage, put on a KISS record (yes, I said vinyl record ;) and then jam out with make believe instruments.
Both bands are also well known for their intricate light shows, pyro-technics, exploding devices, fire and smoke, along with their own brand of butt kicking rock music. Seeing a live KISS concert is sure to give you goosebumps and these upcoming shows should be no different. People where first attracted to the band KISS by their unique makeup, incredible stage presence, great stage show and the music was secondary, but definitely good enough to keep the Kiss fans coming.
If you're a true KISS fan, then get ready to get on your Kiss Army Gear and head out to you local venue this summer because KISS and Motley Crue are on tour and headed your way.
